Jordan was the main exporting country with an export of about X cubic meters, which recorded 67% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Egypt (X cubic meters) and the United Arab Emirates (X cubic meters), together comprising a 21% share of total exports. Morocco (X cubic meters), Bahrain (X cubic meters), Palestine (X cubic meters) and Oman (X cubic meters) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Jordan was also the fastest-growing in terms of the industrial roundwood (coniferous) exports, with a CAGR of +62.1% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Bahrain (+21.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. Palestine experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. In value terms, Jordan ($X), Egypt ($X) and the United Arab Emirates ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2022, together comprising 86% of total exports.

Among the main exporting countries, Jordan, with a CAGR of +32.9%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

In 2022, the export price in MENA amounted to $X per cubic meter, jumping by 27% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a mild decline. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 60%. The level of export peaked at $X per cubic meter in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Egypt ($X per cubic meter), while Oman ($X per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.

The United Arab Emirates (X cubic meters) took the second position in the ranking, distantly followed by Algeria (X cubic meters) and Morocco (X cubic meters). All these countries together held near 48% share of total imports. The following importers - Israel (X cubic meters) and Lebanon (X cubic meters) - each reached a 5.4% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the leading importing countries, was attained by Algeria (with a CAGR of +61.6%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
