The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +108.4% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 53%. The volume of export peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.

In value terms, fruit flour exports soared to $X in 2022. In general, exports continue to indicate prominent growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when exports increased by 120%. The level of export peaked in 2022 and is likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.

Exports by Country

In 2022, Belarus (X tons) represented the major exporter of fruit flour, generating 66% of total exports. Moldova (X tons) took a 24% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Russia (9.1%).

Belarus was also the fastest-growing in terms of the fruit flour exports, with a CAGR of +68.1% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Russia (+30.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. By contrast, Moldova (-10.5%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Belarus and Russia increased by +66 and +8.2 percentage points, respectively.

In value terms, Belarus ($X) emerged as the largest fruit flour supplier in the CIS, comprising 65% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Russia ($X), with a 23% share of total exports.

In 2022, the export price in the CIS amounted to $X per ton, with an increase of 16% against the previous year. Export price indicated a remarkable increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +9.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, fruit flour export price increased by +78.8% against 2020 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when the export price increased by 69%. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the peak figure in 2022 and is likely to see gradual growth in years to come.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per ton), while Moldova ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Moldova (-2.3%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

Imports in CIS

Fruit flour imports fell to X tons in 2022, with a decrease of -8.4% compared with the year before. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a resilient increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 63%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons, and then contracted in the following year.

In value terms, fruit flour imports contracted to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, recorded a buoyant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 51% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at $X in 2021, and then dropped in the following year.

Imports by Country

Russia was the largest importing country with an import of around X tons, which recorded 74% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Belarus (X tons), achieving a 17% share of total imports. The following importers - Kazakhstan (X tons) and Kyrgyzstan (X tons) - each amounted to a 6.7% share of total imports.

Imports into Russia increased at an average annual rate of +5.1% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Belarus (+44.2%) and Kazakhstan (+30.6%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Belarus emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +44.2% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Kyrgyzstan (-8.0%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Belarus, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan increased by +16, +3.3 and +2.9 percentage points, respectively.

In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported fruit flour in the CIS, comprising 86% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Belarus ($X), with a 5.8% share of total imports. It was followed by Kyrgyzstan, with a 3.6% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in Russia stood at +12.2%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Belarus (+19.4% per year) and Kyrgyzstan (+18.5% per year).

Import Prices by Country

In 2022, the import price in the CIS amounted to $X per ton, therefore, remained relatively stable against the previous year. Import price indicated a strong expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.0% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, fruit flour import price decreased by -19.1% against 2018 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when the import price increased by 34% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per ton), while Belarus ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
