Exports by Country
Thailand prevails in exports structure, accounting for X tons, which was approx. X% of total exports in 2023. Indonesia (X tons) took a X% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Malaysia (X%) and Singapore (X%).
Thailand experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of exports of carbon (carbon blacks and other forms of carbon). At the same time, Indonesia (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Indonesia emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in ASEAN, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2023. Total imports indicated a prominent expansion from 2012 to 2023: its volume increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last eleven years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2023 figures, imports increased by X% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure in 2023 and are likely to see gradual growth in the near future.
In value terms, carbon imports fell to $X in 2023. Overall, imports showed a buoyant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of X% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X in 2022, and then fell in the following year.
Imports by Country
The purchases of the three major importers of carbon (carbon blacks and other forms of carbon), namely Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam, represented more than two-thirds of total import.
