Vegetable Product Price in Romania (CIF) - 2023
In June 2023, the average vegetable product import price amounted to $5,980 per ton, picking up by 41% against the previous month. Over the last twelve months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.3%. As a result, import price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was China ($12,636 per ton), while the price for Hungary ($2,657 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+9.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Vegetable Product Price in Romania (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average vegetable product export price amounted to $9,346 per ton, waning by -7.9% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, saw buoyant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when the average export price increased by 95%. The export price peaked at $10,717 per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the UK ($18,983 per ton), while the average price for exports to Moldova ($1,663 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Switzerland (+45.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Vegetable Product Imports in Romania
Vegetable product imports into Romania soared to 703 tons in 2022, increasing by 47% compared with the previous year. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a prominent expansion from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +14.2% over the last three years.
