Turkey Meat Price in the Netherlands (CIF) - 2023
In July 2023, the average turkey meat import price amounted to $3,998 per ton, increasing by 5.3% against the previous month. Overall, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in December 2022 when the average import price increased by 40% m-o-m. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $4,890 per ton. From January 2023 to July 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Brazil ($4,796 per ton), while the price for Spain ($2,379 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belgium (+3.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Turkey Meat Price in the Netherlands (FOB) - 2023
The average turkey meat export price stood at $3,986 per ton in July 2023, with an increase of 3.3% against the previous month. Over the period from July 2022 to July 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.3%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in December 2022 when the average export price increased by 22% against the previous month. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $5,015 per ton. From January 2023 to July 2023, the the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Belgium ($6,943 per ton), while the average price for exports to Vietnam ($1,305 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the UK (+3.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Turkey Meat Imports in the Netherlands
In 2022, purchases abroad of turkey meat decreased by -11.3% to 24K tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.0% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 13%. As a result, imports attained the peak of 27K tons, and then contracted in the following year.
In value terms, turkey meat imports dropped to $78M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +1.9% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 12% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $85M, and then declined in the following year.

Turkey Meat Exports in the Netherlands
