Shelled Walnut Price in Thailand (CIF) - 2022
The average shelled walnut import price stood at $9,513 per ton in 2022, increasing by 40% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +3.8%. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $10,049 per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($9,511 per ton), while the price for China ($9,219 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+4.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2022, the average shelled walnut export price amounted to $5,602 per ton, remaining stable against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a noticeable decline. There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Singapore ($8,765 per ton), while the average price for exports to the Philippines stood at $5,482 per ton.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Singapore (+10.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
Shelled Walnut Imports in Thailand
In 2022, imports of shelled walnuts into Thailand surged to 335 tons, growing by 21% against the previous year's figure. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.0% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations being observed in certain years. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, shelled walnut imports soared to $3.2M in 2022.
