The average import price for vegetables; celery (other than celeriac), fresh or chilleds stood at $1,065 per ton in 2022, surging by 78% against the previous year. Overall, the import price enjoyed resilient growth. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($1,484 per ton), while the price for Spain totaled $1,060 per ton.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (+9.5%).

In August 2023, the average export price for vegetables; celery (other than celeriac), fresh or chilleds amounted to $1,658 per ton, standing approximately at the previous month. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on August 2023 figures, export price for vegetables; celery (other than celeriac), fresh or chilleds decreased by -36.8% against June 2023 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in June 2023 when the average export price increased by 76% m-o-m. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $2,625 per ton. From July 2023 to August 2023, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major external markets. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Ireland ($1,810 per ton), while the average price for exports to France amounted to $1,226 per ton.

From December 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Ireland (+3.7%).
