The average import price for nuts, edible; almonds, fresh or dried, shelleds stood at $4,400 per ton in September 2023, which is down by -2.5% against the previous month. Over the period from February 2023 to September 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.5%. The growth pace was the most rapid in March 2023 an increase of 9.7% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $4,741 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to September 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Spain ($6,737 per ton), while the price for the United States ($4,421 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From February 2023 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Greece (+0.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

In September 2023, the average export price for nuts, edible; almonds, fresh or dried, shelleds amounted to $4,648 per ton, which is down by -9.1% against the previous month. Overall, the export price showed a deep setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in June 2023 when the average export price increased by 30% against the previous month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $7,060 per ton. From July 2023 to September 2023, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major external markets. In September 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices to Montenegro ($6,684 per ton) and Bosnia and Herzegovina ($6,183 per ton), while the average price for exports to Spain ($4,471 per ton) and Hungary ($5,113 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From February 2023 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Bosnia and Herzegovina (+4.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
