In September 2023, the average pineapple import price amounted to $657 per ton, surging by 3.1% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in December 2022 an increase of 5.1% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum in September 2023.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was Mexico ($1,292 per ton), while the price for Guatemala ($454 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Mexico (+4.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In September 2023, the average pineapple export price amounted to $981 per ton, dropping by -1.9% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2023 an increase of 9.5% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $1,000 per ton in August 2023, and then declined slightly in the following month.
As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Canada.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Canada amounted to +0.1% per month.
Pineapple Imports in the United States

In May 2022, the pineapple price per ton amounted to $602 (CIF, US), approximately mirroring the previous month.
