In February 2022, the average pear import price amounted to $1,305 per ton, falling by -3.1% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in December 2021 an increase of 10% m-o-m. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $1,431 per ton. From January 2022 to February 2022, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In February 2022, the country with the highest price was Argentina ($1,364 per ton), while the price for Chile totaled $1,304 per ton.
From February 2021 to February 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Argentina (+1.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
Pear Price in Colombia (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average pear export price amounted to $1,271 per ton, growing by 11% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.5%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 25%. The export price peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Curacao ($2,543 per ton), while the average price for exports to Aruba stood at $862 per ton.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Brazil (+12.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, after two years of decline, there was significant growth in purchases abroad of pears, when their volume increased by 8.3% to 22K tons. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a abrupt slump.
