Mushroom and Truffle Price in Singapore (CIF) - 2022
In September 2022, the average mushroom and truffle import price amounted to $3,268 per ton, rising by 3.8% against the previous month. Over the last twelve-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.6%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in January 2022 an increase of 18% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $4,278 per ton in February 2022; however, from March 2022 to September 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($8,628 per ton), while the price for Taiwan (Chinese) ($2,590 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2021 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Taiwan (Chinese) (+3.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Mushroom and Truffle Price in Singapore (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average mushroom and truffle export price amounted to $2,817 per ton, increasing by 6.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a abrupt slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when the average export price increased by 24% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $9,815 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Indonesia ($7,999 per ton), while the average price for exports to Malaysia ($2,239 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Indonesia (-2.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
Mushroom and Truffle Imports in Singapore
In 2022, supplies from abroad of mushrooms and truffles decreased by -9% to 13K tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.9% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations in certain years. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 17%.
In value terms, mushroom and truffle imports fell significantly to $32M in 2022. Overall, imports showed a perceptible decrease. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when imports increased by 13%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $40M. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
