Fresh Chicken Cut Price in Kuwait (CIF) - 2021
In December 2021, the average fresh chicken cut import price amounted to $4,647 per ton, shrinking by -15.2% against the previous month. In general, the import price showed a pronounced decrease. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in August 2021 when the average import price increased by 18% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $7,613 per ton in May 2021; however, from June 2021 to December 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In December 2021, the country with the highest price was Saudi Arabia ($7,437 per ton), while the price for the United Arab Emirates totaled $3,303 per ton.
From January 2021 to December 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United Arab Emirates (-0.4%).
Fresh Chicken Cut Price in Kuwait (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average fresh chicken cut export price amounted to $4,976 per ton, waning by -3.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, export price indicated a pronounced increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.7% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, fresh chicken cut export price increased by +102.0% against 2017 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 39% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $5,166 per ton in 2021, and then dropped modestly in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United Arab Emirates ($8,606 per ton), while the average price for exports to Bahrain ($996 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Jordan (+5.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
Fresh Chicken Cut Imports in Kuwait
In 2022, approx. 2.4K tons of fresh or chilled cuts of chicken were imported into Kuwait; which is down by -17.3% on the previous year. In general, imports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 51% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 2.9K tons, and then contracted markedly in the following year.
In value terms, fresh chicken cut imports dropped rapidly to $12M in 2022. Overall, total imports indicated moderate growth from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +3.8% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +24.7% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 49%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $14M, and then shrank sharply in the following year.

Fresh Chicken Cut Exports in Kuwait
After three years of growth, overseas shipments of fresh or chilled cuts of chicken decreased by -16.1% to 35 tons in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, posted a significant increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 90% against the previous year.
In value terms, fresh chicken cut exports declined significantly to $176K in 2022. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate a significant expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 164%.
