By contrast, Malaysia (-2.6%), Saudi Arabia (-4.9%), Kuwait (-6.6%) and the United States (-19.2%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of China (+15 p.p.), Belgium (+2.8 p.p.), Egypt (+2.4 p.p.), Spain (+2.1 p.p.), Mexico (+2 p.p.) and India (+1.5 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the global exports from 2012-2021, the share of Saudi Arabia (-2.1 p.p.), Kuwait (-2.1 p.p.) and the United States (-16.3 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, China ($X) remains the largest glass fibres and wool supplier from Puerto Rico, comprising 27% of global exports. The second position in the ranking was held by the United States ($X), with an 11% share of global exports. It was followed by Germany, with an 8.5% share.

In China, glass fibres and wool exports expanded at an average annual rate of +9.2% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: the United States (+0.3% per year) and Germany (+6.5% per year).
