Exports from Portugal

Electrical transformer exports from Portugal soared to X units in 2022, rising by X% compared with 2021 figures. Over the period under review, exports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of X% against the previous year. The exports peaked at X units in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, electrical transformer exports reduced sharply to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, saw a sharp curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of X%. The exports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Exports by Country

Israel (X units) was the main destination for electrical transformer exports from Portugal, accounting for a X% share of total exports. Moreover, electrical transformer exports to Israel exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Angola (X units), fourfold. Italy (X units) ranked third in terms of total exports with a X% share.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

In general, total imports indicated a notable increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by X% against 2019 indices. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

China (X units), Thailand (X units) and Spain (X units) were the main suppliers of electrical transformer imports to Portugal, with a combined X% share of total imports.
