From 2019 to 2021, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

The United Arab Emirates was the main exporter of photographic paper, paperboard and textiles in MENA, with the volume of exports accounting for X square meters, which was approx. 70% of total exports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Turkey (X square meters), creating a 21% share of total exports. The following exporters - Kuwait (X square meters), Saudi Arabia (X square meters) and Jordan (X square meters) - each reached a 5.8% share of total exports.

Exports from the United Arab Emirates decreased at an average annual rate of -10.1% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Kuwait (+8.5%) and Turkey (+4.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Kuwait emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in MENA, with a CAGR of +8.5% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Saudi Arabia (-1.0%) and Jordan (-6.1%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Turkey (+14 p.p.) and Kuwait (+1.7 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while the United Arab Emirates saw its share reduced by -11.6% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the United Arab Emirates ($X) remains the largest photographic paper supplier in MENA, comprising 64% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Turkey ($X), with a 24% share of total exports. It was followed by Jordan, with a 3.4% share.
