In 2023, Iran (X tons) was the key exporter of iron and steel, making up X% of total exports. Saudi Arabia (X tons) held a X% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Kuwait (X%), Algeria (X%), Oman (X%) and Turkey (X%).

Export price indicated a measured expansion from 2012 to 2023: its price increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last eleven years. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2023, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, iron and steel imports fell markedly to $X in 2023. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a perceptible shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by X%. The level of import peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2023, imports remained at a lower figure.

Imports by Country

Turkey was the key importing country with an import of about X tons, which accounted for X% of total imports. Oman (X tons) took the second position in the ranking, distantly followed by the United Arab Emirates (X tons). All these countries together took near X% share of total imports. The following importers - Saudi Arabia (X tons) and Jordan (X tons) - together made up X% of total imports.

Turkey experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of imports of iron and steel.
