In 2023, Mexico (X tons) represented the main importer of pig iron and spiegeleisen, constituting X% of total imports. Peru (X tons) held the second position in the ranking, followed by Argentina (X tons). All these countries together took approx. X% share of total imports. Ecuador (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when the import price increased by X%. Over the period under review, import prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
