Stationery Exports

Exports in CIS

In 2022, approx. X tons of articles of stationery were exported in the CIS; surging by X% against the year before. Total exports indicated buoyant growth from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by X% against 2018 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at X tons in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, stationery exports declined to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports saw a strong increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by X%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X, and then reduced in the following year.

Exports by Country

Russia was the main exporting country with an export of about X tons, which reached X% of total exports. Belarus (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total exports with a X% share, followed by Uzbekistan (X%). Tajikistan (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Uzbekistan (with a CAGR of X%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Russia ($X) remains the largest stationery supplier in the CIS, comprising X% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Belarus ($X), with a X% share of total exports. It was followed by Tajikistan, with a X% share.

Export price indicated a modest expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, stationery export price increased by X% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 an increase of X%. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2021, and then reduced markedly in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per ton), while Uzbekistan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Russia (X%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

In 2022, approx. X tons of articles of stationery were imported in the CIS; shrinking by X% compared with the previous year's figure. Overall, imports showed a slight curtailment. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of X%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, stationery imports expanded markedly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports saw a slight reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of X%. The level of import peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Imports by Country

Russia represented the major importing country with an import of about X tons, which accounted for X% of total imports. Tajikistan (X tons) took the second position in the ranking, followed by Belarus (X tons), Kazakhstan (X tons), Azerbaijan (X tons), Kyrgyzstan (X tons) and Uzbekistan (X tons). All these countries together held near X% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to stationery imports into Russia stood at X%. At the same time, Uzbekistan (X%), Azerbaijan (X%), Belarus (X%) and Tajikistan (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Uzbekistan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Kyrgyzstan (X%) and Kazakhstan (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Belarus (X p.p.), Azerbaijan (X p.p.), Uzbekistan (X p.p.) and Tajikistan (X p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Russia and Kazakhstan saw its share reduced by X% and X% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
