Imports into China
In 2022, supplies from abroad of albumins, albuminates and other derivatives (excluding egg albumin) decreased by X% to X tons, falling for the second consecutive year after nine years of growth. In general, imports, however, recorded prominent growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X tons in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, albumins and albuminates imports surged to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a buoyant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of X%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.
Imports by Country
Germany (X tons), the United States (X tons) and New Zealand (X tons) were the main suppliers of albumins and albuminates imports to China, with a combined X% share of total imports. Denmark, the Netherlands, Australia and Argentina lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further X%.
