Rice Market Size in Central Asia

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, rice imports surged to $X in 2023. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. Uzbekistan was the key importer of rice in Central Asia, with the volume of imports resulting at X tons, which was near X% of total imports in 2023. Mongolia (X tons) took a X% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Tajikistan (X%) and Kyrgyzstan (X%). Kazakhstan (X tons) took a minor share of total imports.

Uzbekistan was also the fastest-growing in terms of the rice imports, with a CAGR of X% from 2012 to 2023. At the same time, Mongolia (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. By contrast, Tajikistan (X%), Kyrgyzstan (X%) and Kazakhstan (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period.
