Kyrgyzstan (X units) held the second position in the ranking, followed by Mongolia (X units), Uzbekistan (X units) and Tajikistan (X units). All these countries together took approx. X% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2023, average annual rates of growth with regard to public works machinery exports from Kazakhstan stood at X%. At the same time, Uzbekistan (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Uzbekistan emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Central Asia, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2023. By contrast, Mongolia (X%), Tajikistan (X%) and Kyrgyzstan (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2014 to 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Mongolia ($X per unit), while Kyrgyzstan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

Imports in Central Asia
In 2023, supplies from abroad of machinery for public works and building decreased by X% to X units, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth. In general, imports, however, saw a pronounced increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X units in 2021; however, from 2022 to 2023, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, public works machinery imports shrank to $X in 2023. Overall, imports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of X%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2023, imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
In 2023, Kazakhstan (X units) represented the key importer of machinery for public works and building, mixing up X% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Uzbekistan (X units), making up a X% share of total imports. The following importers - Tajikistan (X units) and Mongolia (X units) - each accounted for a X% share of total imports.
