Vietnam represented the key exporter of cement in ASEAN, with the volume of exports recording X tons, which was near X% of total exports in 2023. Thailand (X tons) took an X% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Indonesia (X%), Lao People's Democratic Republic (X%) and Malaysia (X%).
Vietnam was also the fastest-growing in terms of the cement exports, with a CAGR of X% from 2012 to 2023. At the same time, Indonesia (X%) and Lao People's Democratic Republic (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. By contrast, Malaysia (X%) and Thailand (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2023, the share of Vietnam and Indonesia increased by X and X percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major exporting countries. In 2023, major exporting countries recorded the following prices: in Malaysia ($X per ton) and Indonesia ($X per ton), while Vietnam ($X per ton) and Lao People's Democratic Republic ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Malaysia (X%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports in ASEAN
Cement imports reduced slightly to X tons in 2023, approximately mirroring the previous year's figure. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2023; the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2023, imports failed to regain momentum.

The following importers - Lao People's Democratic Republic (X tons) and Myanmar (X tons) - each finished at a X% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2023, the biggest increases were recorded for the Philippines (with a CAGR of X%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest cement importing markets in ASEAN were the Philippines ($X), Singapore ($X) and Thailand ($X), together accounting for X% of total imports.
