In 2022, the average vegetable puree import price amounted to $5,083 per ton, almost unchanged from the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, posted buoyant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the average import price increased by 79%. The import price peaked at $5,533 per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($8,287 per ton), while the price for China ($3,707 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
