Temporarily Preserved Vegetable Price in Spain (FOB) - 2023
The average temporarily preserved vegetable export price stood at $1,309 per ton in August 2023, remaining constant against the previous month. In general, export price indicated modest growth from August 2022 to August 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +1.8% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on August 2023 figures, temporarily preserved vegetable export price decreased by -35.2% against March 2023 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2023 an increase of 23% m-o-m. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $2,020 per ton. From April 2023 to August 2023, the the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Italy ($2,221 per ton), while the average price for exports to the Netherlands ($610 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Ireland (+7.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Temporarily Preserved Vegetable Price in Spain (CIF) - 2023
In August 2023, the average temporarily preserved vegetable import price amounted to $879 per ton, which is down by -19.6% against the previous month. In general, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in December 2022 an increase of 11% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $1,156 per ton in March 2023; however, from April 2023 to August 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Turkey ($2,765 per ton), while the price for France ($482 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Turkey (+6.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Temporarily Preserved Vegetable Exports in Spain
In 2022, after two years of decline, there was significant growth in overseas shipments of vegetables (temporarily preserved), when their volume increased by 25% to 78K tons. Over the period under review, exports, however, saw a deep contraction.
In value terms, temporarily preserved vegetable exports soared to $93M in 2022. In general, exports, however, recorded a noticeable setback.
