The average stationery product import price stood at $1,269 per ton in 2022, declining by -13.9% against the previous year. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a noticeable decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the average import price increased by 22%. The import price peaked at $1,890 per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Malaysia ($2,650 per ton), while the price for Hong Kong SAR ($184 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Malaysia (+12.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
