Spirits and Liqueurs Price in the Czech Republic (CIF) - 2023

The average spirits and liqueurs import price stood at $6.4 per litre in July 2023, picking up by 15% against the previous month. Over the last twelve-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +3.2%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in November 2022 when the average import price increased by 25% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum in July 2023.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Venezuela ($19.8 per litre), while the price for Finland ($1.7 per litre) was amongst the lowest.

From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Poland (+8.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Spirits and Liqueurs Price in the Czech Republic (FOB) - 2023

In July 2023, the average spirits and liqueurs export price amounted to $4.9 per litre, rising by 14% against the previous month. Over the last twelve-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.8%. The growth pace was the most rapid in April 2023 an increase of 16% against the previous month. The export price peaked in July 2023.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($6.7 per litre), while the average price for exports to the Netherlands ($2.0 per litre) was amongst the lowest.

From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Latvia (+6.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Spirits and Liqueurs Imports in the Czech Republic

In 2022, approx. 49M litres of spirits, liqueurs and other spirituous beverages were imported into the Czech Republic; increasing by 14% compared with the previous year. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 35%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at 50M litres in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, spirits and liqueurs imports rose notably to $255M in 2022. In general, total imports indicated a perceptible increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.2% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +56.4% against 2020 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 37% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the near future.

The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.8% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 22%. The exports peaked in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the near future.

In value terms, spirits and liqueurs exports expanded rapidly to $102M in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +6.1% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 29% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
