Sesame Seed Price in Turkey (CIF) - 2023
In July 2023, the average sesame seed import price amounted to $2,037 per ton, increasing by 1.8% against the previous month. Over the last twelve months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.0%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2023 when the average import price increased by 12% m-o-m. The import price peaked in July 2023.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices from Chad ($2,116 per ton) and Ethiopia ($2,087 per ton), while the price for Brazil ($1,564 per ton) and Paraguay ($1,584 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Gambia (+6.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Sesame Seed Price in Turkey (FOB) - 2023
In July 2023, the average sesame seed export price amounted to $2,055 per ton, declining by -6% against the previous month. Over the last twelve-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.2%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in December 2022 an increase of 12% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $2,187 per ton in June 2023, and then contracted in the following month.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major overseas markets. In July 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices to Lebanon ($2,397 per ton) and Poland ($2,365 per ton), while the average price for exports to Iraq ($1,760 per ton) and Jordan ($1,768 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Lebanon (+3.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
