Italy (15K tons) took a minor share of total imports.

In 2022, the average self-adhesive printed label import price amounted to $5,525 per ton, dropping by -10.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a pronounced shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 an increase of 11% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $7,247 per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Hong Kong SAR ($9,164 per ton), while Belgium ($1,504 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to self-adhesive printed label exports from China stood at +3.0%. At the same time, Russia (+28.7%), India (+14.7%), Belgium (+8.1%), Taiwan (Chinese) (+5.7%), Poland (+5.2%), Italy (+3.1%), Canada (+2.6%), the Netherlands (+1.6%) and France (+1.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Russia emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the world, with a CAGR of +28.7% from 2012-2022. Germany experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, the United States (-1.4%) and Hong Kong SAR (-4.5%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. China (+2.5 p.p.), Russia (+1.9 p.p.), Belgium (+1.9 p.p.) and India (+1.6 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the global exports, while Germany, the United States and Hong Kong SAR saw its share reduced by -1.6%, -2.7% and -4.6% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, China ($1B) remains the largest self-adhesive printed label supplier worldwide, comprising 22% of global exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Germany ($409M), with an 8.8% share of global exports. It was followed by Hong Kong SAR, with an 8.8% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in China amounted to +8.1%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Germany (+0.1% per year) and Hong Kong SAR (-2.4% per year).
Export Prices By Country
The average self-adhesive printed label export price stood at $9,498 per ton in 2022, rising by 2.8% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when the average export price increased by 9.5%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $10,235 per ton. From 2017 to 2022, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
