The average refined olive oil import price stood at $4,030 per ton in 2022, picking up by 8.1% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a perceptible decline. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 22%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $7,630 per ton. From 2014 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Greece ($5,870 per ton), while the price for Portugal ($1,190 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Morocco (+5.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In August 2023, the average refined olive oil export price amounted to $12,838 per ton, jumping by 96% against the previous month. Overall, the export price posted a strong expansion. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Canada ($31,603 per ton), while the average price for exports to Malta ($3,892 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
