In December 2023, the average import price for zinc; unwrought, (not alloyed), containing by weight less than 99.99% of zincs amounted to $3,013 per ton, leveling off at the previous month. Overall, the import price saw a mild descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in November 2023 when the average import price increased by 4.2% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $3,559 per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to December 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In December 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices from Canada ($3,152 per ton) and South Korea ($2,785 per ton), while the price for Mexico ($2,498 per ton) and Peru ($2,600 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From February 2023 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Canada (-1.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
