The average import price for zinc; plates, sheets, strip and foils stood at $9,167 per ton in 2022, falling by -13.8% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, posted a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 an increase of 264%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $14,343 per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

The export price peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($176,816 per ton), while the average price for exports to Brunei Darussalam ($667 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
