In 2022, the average wood; posts and beams export price amounted to $849 per ton, reducing by -33.1% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, saw a perceptible increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 an increase of 99%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $1,297 per ton. From 2014 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Switzerland ($4,222 per ton), while the average price for exports to France ($372 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Denmark (+11.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

The average wood; posts and beams import price stood at $1,232 per ton in 2022, declining by -1.6% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a modest expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when the average import price increased by 49%. The import price peaked at $1,252 per ton in 2021, and then declined modestly in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($1,652 per ton), while the price for Austria ($473 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Turkey (+36.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
