The average import price for wine; still, in containers holding more than 2 litreses stood at $1.4 per litre in 2022, waning by -1.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 42% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $1.5 per litre in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $4.1 per litre. From 2016 to 2022, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Myanmar ($4 per litre), while the average price for exports to Malaysia ($1.3 per litre) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Myanmar (+0.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

In 2022, overseas purchases of wine; still, in containers holding more than 2 litreses were finally on the rise to reach 2.1M litres after two years of decline. Overall, imports, however, saw a abrupt curtailment. Imports peaked at 3.9M litres in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, imports of wine; still, in containers holding more than 2 litreses soared to $2.9M in 2022. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a drastic downturn. Over the period under review, imports of hit record highs at $4.5M in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a remarkable increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 108%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 1.3M litres, and then fell significantly in the following year.

In value terms, exports of wine; still, in containers holding more than 2 litreses reduced markedly to $2.3M in 2022. Overall, exports, however, recorded a strong expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 99% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $3.1M, and then fell notably in the following year.
