The average export price for tobacco; partly or wholly stemmed or stripped stood at $12,738 per ton in November 2023, with an increase of 46% against the previous month. Over the last eleven months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +3.1%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was the Dominican Republic ($14,470 per ton), while the average price for exports to Canada ($5,685 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Lebanon (+2.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period from December 2022 to November 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.8%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2023 an increase of 33% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $7,486 per ton in June 2023; however, from July 2023 to November 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In November 2023, the country with the highest price was Mexico ($8,931 per ton), while the price for Guatemala ($1,954 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Mexico (+3.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
