The average export price for textiles; worn clothing and other worn articleses stood at $792 per ton in December 2023, therefore, remained relatively stable against the previous month. Overall, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in April 2023 an increase of 12% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $938 per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to December 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Cameroon ($2,037 per ton), while the average price for exports to Pakistan ($114 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Ghana (+2.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
