In 2022, the average export price for sugar confectionery; (excluding chewing gum, including white chocolate), not containing cocoa amounted to $1,875 per ton, picking up by 19% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The export price peaked at $2,033 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($2,377 per ton), while the average price for exports to Sierra Leone ($1,286 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Overall, total exports indicated a buoyant expansion from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +14.4% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +64.2% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 32% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports of hit record highs in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.
