The average steel, alloy; semi-finished products import price stood at $697 per ton in July 2023, with an increase of 6.4% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, recorded a perceptible decrease. The growth pace was the most rapid in August 2022 when the average import price increased by 40% m-o-m. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $1,695 per ton. From September 2022 to July 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($1,555 per ton), while the price for Russia totaled $589 per ton.

In June 2023, the average steel, alloy; semi-finished products export price amounted to $1,090 per ton, growing by 9.6% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in July 2022 an increase of 59% m-o-m. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $1,800 per ton. From August 2022 to June 2023, the the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
