The average export price for raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, and cranberries stood at $6,064 per ton in August 2023, with a decrease of -6.9% against the previous month. In general, export price indicated a tangible increase from August 2022 to August 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +2.3% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on August 2023 figures, raspberry, blackberry, blueberry, and cranberry export price decreased by -37.2% against March 2023 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in September 2022 an increase of 22% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $9,662 per ton in March 2023; however, from April 2023 to August 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Belgium ($9,966 per ton), while the average price for exports to Poland ($1,647 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Poland (+4.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In August 2023, the average import price for raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, and cranberries amounted to $5,006 per ton, which is down by -8.1% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2023 when the average import price increased by 19% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $7,128 per ton in March 2023; however, from April 2023 to August 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was South Africa ($8,455 per ton), while the price for Romania ($4,370 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Morocco (+7.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Exports of Raspberry, Blackberry, Blueberry, and Cranberry in Spain
In 2022, approx. 159K tons of raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, and cranberries were exported from Spain; with an increase of 6.5% against the previous year's figure. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.4% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being observed in certain years. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 14%. The exports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.
