Price for Optical Fiber, Bundle and Cable in Poland (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average export price for optical fibers, bundles and cables amounted to $19,561 per ton, with a decrease of -7.8% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price showed a slight descent. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 an increase of 5.9%. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $22,639 per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Ireland ($28,828 per ton), while the average price for exports to Portugal ($7,540 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+2.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Price for Optical Fiber, Bundle and Cable in Poland (CIF) - 2022
The average import price for optical fibers, bundles and cables stood at $18,568 per ton in 2022, picking up by 18% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the average import price increased by 52%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $29,423 per ton. From 2014 to 2022, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($57,318 per ton), while the price for Morocco ($6,099 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+8.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Exports of Optical Fiber, Bundle and Cable in Poland
For the fourth consecutive year, Poland recorded growth in overseas shipments of optical fibers, bundles and cables, which increased by 20% to 20K tons in 2022. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +11.2% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, optical fiber, bundle and cable exports rose notably to $382M in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +5.9% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations being recorded in certain years. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
