In September 2023, the average nuts (prepared or preserved) import price amounted to $5,687 per ton, shrinking by -2.7% against the previous month. Over the last eleven months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.8%. The growth pace was the most rapid in January 2023 an increase of 40% m-o-m. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $6,902 per ton. From February 2023 to September 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Italy ($12,012 per ton), while the price for Austria ($3,325 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Hungary (+3.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In September 2023, the average nuts (prepared or preserved) export price amounted to $7,776 per ton, shrinking by -9.2% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in June 2023 when the average export price increased by 21% against the previous month. The export price peaked at $8,894 per ton in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to September 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was Montenegro ($9,014 per ton), while the average price for exports to Albania ($2,527 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Slovenia (+9.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Imports of Nuts (Prepared or Preserved) in Serbia
Nuts (prepared or preserved) imports into Serbia rose markedly to 2K tons in 2022, growing by 6.4% against the previous year. Overall, total imports indicated a strong increase from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +16.2% over the last three years.
