The average import price for nuts, edible; cashew nuts, shelled, fresh or drieds stood at $6,696 per ton in October 2023, dropping by -10.9% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in September 2023 an increase of 6.7% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $7,615 per ton in November 2022; however, from December 2022 to October 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In October 2023, the countries with the highest prices were Vietnam ($6,762 per ton) and Cote d'Ivoire ($6,614 per ton), while the price for Ghana ($5,948 per ton) and Brazil ($6,126 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Brazil (+4.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
