Price for Nonferrous Metal Die-Casting Foundry in the United States (CIF) - 2023
The average nonferrous metal die-casting foundry import price stood at $11,563 per ton in August 2023, reducing by -9.3% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in November 2022 an increase of 12% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $12,787 per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to August 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Canada ($36,320 per ton), while the price for Thailand ($6,847 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Canada (+5.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In August 2023, the average nonferrous metal die-casting foundry export price amounted to $35,663 per ton, reducing by -9.5% against the previous month. In general, export price indicated a buoyant expansion from August 2022 to August 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +5.1% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on August 2023 figures, nonferrous metal die-casting foundry export price increased by +18.1% against June 2023 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in July 2023 when the average export price increased by 30% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $44,024 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to August 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Singapore ($92,310 per ton), while the average price for exports to Ecuador ($4,561 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Italy (+12.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Imports of Nonferrous Metal Die-Casting Foundry in the United States
In 2022, the amount of nonferrous metal die-casting foundries imported into the United States declined significantly to 12K tons, falling by -17.3% on the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a deep reduction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 60% against the previous year.
In value terms, nonferrous metal die-casting foundry imports fell significantly to $135M in 2022. Overall, total imports indicated a prominent increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +6.2% over the last three-year period.
