In 2022, the average export price for iron ores and concentrates, agglomerated (excluding roasted iron pyrites) amounted to $204 per ton, reducing by -2.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, export price indicated significant growth from 2020 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +28.5% over the last two-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, export price for iron ores and concentrates, agglomerated (excluding roasted iron pyrites) increased by +65.1% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average export price increased by 70%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $210 per ton, and then shrank slightly in the following year.
As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Saudi Arabia.
