The average import price for hot-rolled wire rods in coils stood at $677 per ton in January 2024, with a decrease of -1.9% against the previous month. Overall, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in March 2023 an increase of 4.4% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $769 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to January 2024, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In January 2024, the countries with the highest prices were Italy ($718 per ton) and Bosnia and Herzegovina ($715 per ton), while the price for Turkey ($658 per ton) and Greece ($674 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From January 2023 to January 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Romania (+1.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

The average export price for hot-rolled wire rods in coils stood at $733 per ton in January 2024, approximately equating the previous month. In general, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in November 2023 an increase of 8.7% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $743 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to January 2024, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major external markets. In January 2024, the country with the highest price was Montenegro ($774 per ton), while the average price for exports to Bosnia and Herzegovina totaled $726 per ton.
From January 2023 to January 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Croatia (+24.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
Imports of Hot-Rolled Wire Rod in Coils in Serbia
