Price for Glass Fibres and Wool in Kuwait (FOB) - 2021
In December 2021, the average glass fibres and wool export price amounted to $2,189 per ton, declining by -3.6% against the previous month. In general, the export price showed a perceptible descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in November 2021 an increase of 12% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $3,456 per ton in February 2021; however, from March 2021 to December 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Bangladesh ($2,761 per ton), while the average price for exports to Singapore ($1,207 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2021 to December 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Bangladesh (+67.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
Price for Glass Fibres and Wool in Kuwait (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average glass fibres and wool import price amounted to $2,477 per ton, therefore, remained relatively stable against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.7%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 an increase of 35%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $2,805 per ton. From 2014 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was India ($5,836 per ton), while the price for the United Arab Emirates ($1,915 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Oman (+17.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
Exports of Glass Fibres and Wool in Kuwait
In 2022, the amount of glass fibres and glass wool exported from Kuwait fell to 11K tons, reducing by -9.6% compared with the previous year. Overall, exports showed a pronounced decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 24% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 12K tons, and then contracted in the following year.
In value terms, glass fibres and wool exports shrank to $23M in 2022. Over the period under review, exports showed a pronounced reduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 17%.
