Price for Glass Fibre Chopped Strand in Tunisia (FOB) - 2022

In December 2022, the average glass fibre chopped strand export price amounted to $15,433 per ton, with an increase of 22% against the previous month. Overall, export price indicated a moderate increase from January 2022 to December 2022: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +3.5% over the last eleven months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on December 2022 figures, glass fibre chopped strand export price increased by +23.5% against October 2022 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in February 2022 when the average export price increased by 59% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $19,363 per ton in March 2022; however, from April 2022 to December 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for France.

From January 2022 to December 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for France amounted to +3.5% per month.

The average glass fibre chopped strand import price stood at $4,558 per ton in 2022, declining by -6.7% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, saw a resilient increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 an increase of 70% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $6,246 per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
