The average import price for fish; edible offal, fish heads, tails and mawses stood at $331 per ton in 2022, picking up by 7.1% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a dramatic curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when the average import price increased by 14% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $7,300 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for Russia.
From 2012 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Russia amounted to -26.6% per year.
Imports of Fish; Edible Offal, Fish Heads, Tails and Maws in Kazakhstan
After two years of growth, supplies from abroad of fish; edible offal, fish heads, tails and mawses decreased by -26.1% to 2.5 tons in 2022. In general, imports, however, recorded a significant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 228% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 3.4 tons, and then shrank notably in the following year.
In value terms, imports of fish; edible offal, fish heads, tails and mawses fell significantly to $826 in 2022. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a remarkable increase from 2020 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +16.7% over the last two-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +36.1% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 72%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $1K, and then fell remarkably in the following year.
