The average export price for ferrous waste and scrap; remelting scrap ingots of iron or steels stood at $420 per ton in August 2023, increasing by 1.6% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in January 2023 an increase of 30% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $541 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to August 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Pakistan ($1,047 per ton), while the average price for exports to Turkey ($360 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
