The average import price for dithionites and sulphoxylates; other than sodia stood at $4,311 per ton in 2022, leveling off at the previous year. Over the period under review, import price indicated a strong increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +8.0% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, import price for dithionites and sulphoxylates; other than sodia decreased by -7.4% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 an increase of 64%. The import price peaked at $4,654 per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($11,624 per ton), while the price for China ($2,534 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Singapore (+9.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, overseas purchases of dithionites and sulphoxylates; other than sodia were finally on the rise to reach 10 tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Overall, imports, however, faced a sharp reduction.
In value terms, imports of dithionites and sulphoxylates; other than sodia expanded remarkably to $43K in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a dramatic slump.
