In 2022, the average export price for crustaceans, molluscs and other aquatic invertebrates, prepared or preserveds amounted to $19,482 per ton, picking up by 166% against the previous year. Overall, the export price continues to indicate pronounced growth. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $38,618 per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Hong Kong SAR ($33,860 per ton), while the average price for exports to Australia ($2,230 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to China (+9.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in June 2023 when the average import price increased by 52% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $6,180 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to December 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In December 2023, the country with the highest price was India ($4,800 per ton), while the price for China totaled $3,908 per ton.

From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by India (-0.5%).
